Aloha! Man, it’s crispy outside! Today, I am staying in to hibernate. Okay, it’s not that cold, but still–why leave the house if you don’t have to? Yesterday, I was rocking the tights. Yes. We are there. I HATE TIGHTS. I miss Florida so much. If this were Florida, we would all be half naked in comparison to the way we walk around here, all bundled up. Today, I need to find a way to position my space heater so nothing catches fire. Heater time.
I have a new pet pigeon. He is very cute. His name is Sunny. (I sound like Cinderella here, and yes, he sings to me).
Anyway, here are my top picks for this week. Lots of inspiring music, quotes and faces.
1]
Mario Casas–He is too adorable. Heartthrob.

2]
“Don’t ever put your happiness in someone else’s hands. They’ll drop it. They’ll drop it every time.”
– One For Sorrow, C.Barzak
3] Buzon de tu Corazon. The new Carlos Baute song that has us all singing and dreaming.
4]
“The best kind of people are the ones that come into your life, and make you see the sun where you once saw clouds. The people that believe in you so much, you start to believe in you too. The people that love you, simply for being you. The once in a lifetime kind of people.”
– Unknown
5] Il Divo- In Concert. NYC!! For all the musical theater fans, they are coming to Broadway!

6]
“I never wish to be easily defined. I’d rather float over other people’s minds as something strictly fluid and non-perceivable; more like a transparent, paradoxically iridescent creature rather than an actual person.”
– Franz Kafka
Petra Collins wrote an interesting piece for the Huffington Post. According to Collins, the photo of her clothed body was censored on Instagram, all because it did not match society’s ideal of femininity. She expressed her frustration based on women being measured by their appearance, and the way they are degraded in music and television.

Petra Collins wrote: “To all the young girls and women, do not let this discourage you, do not let anyone tell you what you should look like, tell you how to be, tell you that you do not own your body.” (Emphasis added)
Now, it’s important to see who is writing, and she is a bold unabashed feminist. However, her piece has a lot of truth to it. It goes beyond what we wear or what we remove or keep, but instead it goes to the root–how we think and what we are being told to think. A bold statement in today’s day and age. Provocative, and something to think about.
