New York City: Vintage French Carnival, ‘Fête Paradiso’

I was so blessed to be able to pay a visit to Governors Island. Fête Paradiso, a vintage French carnival, has been running on the island since the end of July, and it will go until the last weekend of September. We had a nice time. The island is stunningly quiet compared to the hustle of the city. It was a beautiful, sunny, breezy day. Some of the rides are more than 100 years old. Rumor has it, some of the rides were ridden by famous French poets, so, we rode on seats warmed by poets of the past.
