This Week’s Picks: August 25, 2013/ Back to School

By: Gabriela Yareliz

Summer lights are dimming; textbooks beckoning; internships interviewing; summer heat fading; rain storms pouring. It’s New York. You see the nannies with the children of different ethnicities in the strollers; young students laying out at the Washington Square Park on blankets; tourist groups buying Amorino Cones; falafel trucks smoking on corners of intersections making our hair smell like Halal food for two days, no matter what we do to it.

These days are over (relatively speaking because it’s not like summer was so relaxing–I think summer was busier than the regular school year):

Starting today:

School, fat books, and a random vibe sets in. I promise you, it (an unknown force haha) sprays tension as a mist at school; type A crazies will be melting soon and saying:

Welcome back, babes!

Got to cling to Jesus, and just keep moving.

3] The way we feel when we think about our first assignment readings for the semester after a summer with no vacation.

5] La Vita e Bella

6] Pray

8] Rules for living

9] Fatal

10] Back to School

12] Missing the DMV.

13] Those eyes–a powerful weapon.

14] Summer Associate/Clerkships: As interviews for next year’s summer jobs approach…

So, we are all praying, applying and interviewing. What not to do:

This week will be fab–just fab.

Be inspired. Make impressions. Make everything count.
