Friday Glee: November 7, 2014

Have an amazing Friday! I am feeling very Princess Jasmine today dressed in teal. My survival week after week is truly part of my religious experience. 🙂 It’s time to celebrate the weekend and all of God’s blessings. We made it through.

“Because free will, though it makes evil possible, is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having.”
― C.S. Lewis

“Be proud of every scar on your heart, each one holds a lifetime’s worth of lessons.” Wallace Stegner

“I am not rejecting money and power, I just consider them insufficient by themselves; it’s an incredibly shrunken view. […] About two centuries ago, philosophers stopped asking the big questions like ‘What is a good life?‘ A lot of people running the world became disconnected from a spiritual foundation. Because they rejected organized religion, they rejected a larger perspective on life. For me, that explains why [this] collective delusion around overworking prevailed. We were left alone and defined success as money and power. Money and power are two legs of the stool, but there’s a problem when you try to also make them the third leg.” Arianna Huffington, Vogue India, October 2014, pg. 462

“So come to the pond,

or to the river of your imagination,

or the harbor of your longing,

and put your lips to the world.

And live

your life.”

Mary Oliver, Red Bird

“Besides being complicated, reality, in my experience, is usually odd. It is not neat, not obvious, not what you expect.” C.S. Lewis
“We are always falling in love or quarreling, looking for jobs or fearing to lose them, getting ill and recovering, following public affairs. If we let ourselves, we shall always be waiting for some distraction or other to end before we can really get down to our work. The only people who achieve much are those who want knowledge so badly that they seek it while the conditions are still unfavorable. Favorable conditions never come.” C.S. Lewis, The Weight of The Glory

“You can be comfortable or courageous, but you cannot be both.” -Unknown

“God sends no one away empty, except those who are filled with themselves.” D.L. Moody

“No matter how plain a woman may be, if truth and honesty are written across her face, she will be beautiful.” Eleanor Roosevelt

“Jobs fill your pocket. Adventures fill your soul.” Jaime Lyn Beatty

“To think you can love God without being changed by Him, is to think you can jump into the ocean and not get wet. To really love Him, you must understand that your life is going to get wrecked by Him, and built again into something beautiful, something lasting.” T.B. LaBerge// Jesus, His Grace and the Gospel
