“When I look back on this summer, when I look back on my life, I want to know that I was fully there. I want to know that I was the first to arrive and the last to leave.” Tylee Shay

Summer makes us dream. Strawberry patches. Lake water. Boats. An old fish shop with tables and counters that feel sticky even though they are wood.
Sweet deep heat. A soft breeze. Tomatoes that are so flavorful, you question what the supermarket is selling. A bright red fish soap on a rope.
Bright lighthouses. Forests the darkest shade of green. Thin orange tents. The shower you set up outside in the woods (I miss those). Cartons filled with cherries or raspberries.
Little crabs by the cove. The small retro burger shop with prices that haven’t moved in decades. The book that takes too long to finish.
Glittery nails. Sunscreen like war paint, but always missing certain spots.
Endless sunshine that stays in permanent core memories.
