Malú: A Prueba De Ti

Antes de que empieces a decirme
Que te estás muriendo por volver a estar conmigo
Date cuenta que has perdido
Desde que no estás me siento libre
No voy a cambiarlo todo una vez más
Por nada
No te atrevas a pedirlo

Lo siento mucho, no tengo más para ti
Si me tuviste, me dejaste ir

Si te amé, ya no sé
Ni tu nombre
Ya no existes en mi piel
Si lloré
No recuerdo cómo fue

Si te ame
Pudo ser
Un momento de locura
Y esta vez
No hay después
Descubrí que estoy a prueba de ti
A prueba de ti

Sé lo que ha dolido la caída
Hoy te encuentras lejos de mi vida
Y ya no quiero
Escucharte otra mentira

Lo siento mucho, no tengo más para ti
Si me tuviste, me dejaste ir

Si te amé, ya no sé
Ni tu nombre
Ya no existes en mi piel
Si lloré
No recuerdo cómo fue

Si te ame
Pudo ser
Un momento de locura
Y esta vez
No hay después
No recuerdo cómo fue

Si te amé, ya no sé
Ni tu nombre
Ya no existes en mi piel
Si lloré
No recuerdo cómo fue

Si te ame
Pudo ser
Un momento de locura
Y esta vez
No hay después
Descubrí que estoy a prueba de ti

De un mal sueño desperté
Y soy mas fuerte
Y es que no lo quieres ver

Si te amé, ya no sé
Ni tu nombre
Ya no existes en mi piel
Si lloré
No recuerdo cómo fue

Si te ame
Pudo ser
Un momento de locura
Y esta vez
No hay después
Descubrí que estoy a prueba de ti
A prueba de ti
A prueba de ti

-A Prueba de Ti, Malu

Hello, my name is–

“Hello, My Name Is”

Hello, my name is regret
I’m pretty sure we have met
Every single day of your life
I’m the whisper inside
That won’t let you forget

Hello, my name is defeat
I know you recognize me
Just when you think you can win
I’ll drag you right back down again
‘Til you’ve lost all belief

Oh, these are the voices. Oh, these are the lies
And I have believed them for the very last time

Hello, my name is child of the one true King
I’ve been saved, I’ve been changed, I have been set free
“Amazing Grace” is the song I sing
Hello, my name is child of the one true King

I am no longer defined
By all the wreckage behind
The one who makes all things new
Has proven it’s true
Just take a look at my life

Hello, my name is child of the one true King
I’ve been saved, I’ve been changed, I have been set free
“Amazing Grace” is the song I sing
Hello, my name is child of the one true King

What love the Father has lavished upon us that we should be called His children
I am a child of the one true King

What love the Father has lavished upon us that we should be called His children

Hello, my name is child of the one true King
I’ve been saved, I’ve been changed, I have been set free
“Amazing Grace” is the song I sing
Hello, my name is child of the one true King

I am a child of the one true King

He had another work for him…

“But that the Lord would not now give him strength to labor in the field, for He had another work for him; that he must walk out by faith…”– {1T 87.2} Ellen G. White

By: Gabriela Yareliz

Sometimes we have a narrow view of what it is we want; and sometimes, what we have in mind, is not what God has in mind for us. If we are willing to accept the will of God for our lives, we may find He has another work for us. This can happen with ministry, the way we serve, our studies, our jobs, our relationships, etc.

When I read this, it emphasized in my mind how important it is to pray. As we pray, God’s will unfolds in our lives day by day.

If there is something you are trying to do, and you find no strength, prayerfully consider–could it be God has another place in mind for you, that you may walk out by faith and flourish?

God always has our best in mind; it’s up to us to accept to walk out by faith and live it.

It’s often good to have an open mind. God is an artist. Our lives are in no way meant to be boring. As my mom likes to say, ‘you are God’s dream.’ He has plans for you. Living the plans, requires faith. Faith means living on the edge. You game?

A Scandalous Gabby & Feisty Felicia Playlist I

By: Gabriela Yareliz feat. Feisty Feliz

We are best friends but also very different. And yet, through the years we have shared a lot of music. Music becomes a backdrop for life; then, when you look back, it takes you back to those days. So, here is to the days of driving around in Felicia’s mom’s car to high school and then to my house to do homework.

Fair warning, the lyrics to all the songs are not exactly Kosher, and the videos–well, videos always tend to be weirder than the songs; but this is the music that played at the mall, at pep rallies, on our radios while we lived our lives in high school. This is only part I. College and Professional School get their own playlist.

Maybe you are older or younger, but maybe as you peruse the list, you will find an old favorite.

The songs are the ones that we would quote, dance to and some of their lyrics became every day expressions or advice. They are here years later because that shows how much we loved them and how much we remember them. Some songs annoyed us (mainly me…), but remained, and now I smile. People like to reminisce and look at oldies: these are OUR OLDIES; OUR CLASSICS. Apparently, we didn’t listen to many Caucasian people. I noticed that while compiling the list (innocent grin).

There are also some quotes sprinkled in from those amazing days (YES, we wrote our own quotes down in notebooks and then compiled them). A personal thank you to my non-existent Facebook that provided my old notes with the quotes in them. I bad-mouth you much Facebook, but today, you were my friend.

Welcome to our high school musical.

Our ode to friendship, life, time, school and love.

Florida Girl

By: Gabriela Yareliz

I heard this song and it made me miss Florida so badly. I mean, I already miss Florida like crazy, but this song did it. It is like the soundtrack to my days driving with my windows down through country roads. I can’t wait to be home.
This song is: driving through country roads+ laying in the grass at UF+ going tubing in the Rainbow River+ high school+ sunglasses+ sunshine+ trucks.
Nostalgia.
The family is at the beach today. I am trapped in my room (NYC) reading, and it is crispy out. WHAT AM I DOING HERE? Sigh.
God knows.

This Week’s Picks: September 22, 2013

By: Gabriela Yareliz

Welcome Autumn! Officially. Even though to me, it has been fall for at least a week and a half. Us clinic law students are typing out memos this weekend, and strategy plans for our cases. Exciting times.

Uncertainty and hope is the cocktail we are drinking.

I bought the cutest coat, and now I am just excited. Boots are ready and enlisted for the season. Adorable poncho ready. Let’s do this!

I remember around this time, in elementary school, teachers with leaf embroidered knit vests would decorate the boards with fake leaf garlands, laminated smiling pumpkins and things were orange. The bright summer sky is turned down to a candle lit glow.

1] Because every woman is a princess.

2]

3] NEVER STOP DREAMING. NEVER GIVE UP.

4] British thoughts. Notting Hill (as a child, this was my favorite Julia Roberts movie).

5] We have this hope, that burns within our hearts

6] Prague Dreams

7]

8] This is a lovely thing to say to or about someone

9] More from Notting Hill: She, Elvis Costello

10] Sonam Kapoor (love her makeup, hair and outfit)

11] Welcome Autumn!

Will of God

By: Gabriela Yareliz

Today’s quotes from Testimonies for the Church, vol. 1, by Ellen G. White:

“I committed myself to the Lord, ready to do His bidding whatever that might be.” {1T 65.2}

“I felt a constant assurance that I was doing the will of God, and saw marked results attending my efforts.” – {1T 65.3}
