While sitting in Mosaic’s service this morning, as I listened to the song give+take, I realized my week had a common theme: building. The imagery of building on God was repeated. Building on the rock.
The lyrics of that song say:
You’re better than anything
Anything else I know
I put my trust in You
In You alone
You are my solid ground
The steadiest place I know
I build my life on You
And You alone
Then, we sang “Firm Foundation”:
I’ve still got joy in chaos
I’ve got peace that makes no sense
So I won’t be going under
I’m not held by my own strength
‘Cause I’ve built my life on Jesus
He’s never let me down
He’s faithful in every season
So why would He fail now
He won’t.

And then, earlier this week, I was so moved by the passage of Matthew 7, about building on the rock that I posted on the Modern Witnesses IG:

Call it a theme, but it keeps popping up in song, scripture, reading— building on Him, the Rock. Are you building on solid foundation so that when the storm comes, you are unshaken?
