We’ve reached the end of October. The days start in the low 50s and end in the 70s. So hard to dress. I sweat through two jackets this week. I know I am always talking about sweating, but I don’t think I have sweat this much in my life like this year. And I am from Florida.
On the bright side, we are entering the fitness winter arc, and my workouts are at least less sweaty. I am obsessed with Ladder, and I canceled all other fitness platforms. I am a day-in-and-day-out Ladder girlie now. Found my workout routine home. I am nearing 100 workouts on the app. Today is day 86. Jennifer Jacobs is my coach, Team Endure. If you want to try it (30-day offer), click here.

I accomplished phase 1 of project husband closet space. Very proud of this. In my closet review, I was also reminded of all my neat shoes. (Grateful for all that I have). I hauled four bags to recycling yesterday, and two to the donation bins. When you live in small spaces, you are constantly trying to figure out another way to make things work and look organized.

I walked a lot this week. One walk was brought to me by the failed MTA (NYC subway system, for our international friends). They told hundreds of us at a large express train connecting stop to get out and figure it out because there was no power for the rest of the line. So I walked through two neighborhoods to get home. (How do you call an Uber when hundreds of stranded people are calling Uber at the same time— every bus was ‘out of service’). Ended the day with six and a half miles logged. Grateful I can walk miles with a laptop strapped to my back. This is what we workout for— to survive the daily schlep of stupidity in this city.
On my walk, I saw $600 divorces and Puerto Rican flags. What I needed was a magic carpet to take me home.

I finished my 44th book of the year. Eleven away from my annual goal.
And while I did all these things— here are some of the things that caught my attention, this week!

“Joy isn’t planned. It’s lived.” Arnold Schwarzenegger

“The right guy wont feel like a sacrifice.” Holly Johnson from Unbothered

“People being mean because they’re unhappy with themselves doesn’t stop at school.” Holly Johnson

“It was never only the tiny cardigan.
It was having somewhere to wear it.” Alyssa Wendy (link to this piece below)

“Just do what must be done. This may not be happiness but it is greatness.” George Bernard Shaw
