Shaadi!

By: Gabriela Yareliz

Congratualtions to Kareena Kapoor (now: Kapoor Khan) and Saif Ali Khan! They were married today in Mumbai. What a pair! To see some photos from the wedding, you can click here. Below is my favorite song of the two.

Other than that, there is nothing else to say except may God give them happiness for the rest of their lives, and may they always say ‘Shukran Allah,’ for the love He has given to them.

If they have kids, they will be gorgeous.

All right, I am out to read some civ pro before night falls.

Namaste!

Improvement

By: Ellen G. White

God desires all who believe in Him to feel the necessity of improvement. Every intrusted faculty is to be improved. Not one is to be neglected. As God’s husbandry and building, man is under His supervision in every sense of the word; and the better he becomes acquainted with his Maker, the more sacred will his life become in his estimation…. – {Te 143.1}

The world should be no criterion for us. It is fashionable to indulge the appetite in luxurious food and unnatural stimulants, thus strengthening the animal propensities and crippling the growth and development of the moral faculties. There is no encouragement given to any of the sons or daughters of Adam that they may become victorious overcomers in the Christian warfare unless they decide to practice temperance in all things. If they do this, they will not fight as one that beateth the air. – {Te 145.2}

Poetry by Javed Akhtar: Dil, Aakhir Tu Kyun Rota Hai?

DIL, AAKHIR TU KYUN ROTA HAI?

Jab jab dard ka baadal chaya Jab ghum ka saya lehraya Jab aansoo palkon tak aya Jab yeh tanha dil ghabraya

Humne dil ko yeh samjhaya Dil aakhir tu kyun rota hai Duniya mein yunhi hota hai

Yeh jo gehre sannate hain Waqt ne sabko hi baante hain Thoda ghum hai sabka qissa Thodi dhoop hai sabka hissa Aankh teri bekaar hi nam hai Har pal ek naya mausam hai Kyun tu aise pal khota hai Dil aakhir tu kyun rota hai

“Every time the cloud of pain loomed

A tear filled my eyes When this lonely heart was scared I told my heart, “Why do you cry for such reason?

This happens everywhere in this world.”

These dark lonely times, time has distributed them to all.

Some sadness is part of everyone’s story, Some sunshine is a part of everyone’s life,

Your eyes are damp for no reason,

Every second is a new season, Why do you waste your time over such matters?

“Why do you cry?” I asked my heart.” — Javed Akhtar

I am blessed

By: Gabriela Yareliz

I am blessed.

No matter what is written;

He will walk with me.

Whomever He may bring;

He chose.

No matter what stands as an obstacle;

He guides me to live His destiny for me.

All works together for good;

Fire, flood, darkness–

My hand is in His.

I am blessed.

Hope in God

By: Gabriela Yareliz

Why art thou cast down, O my soul?

and why art thou disquieted within me?

Hope in God:

for I shall yet praise Him, who is the health of my countenance,

and my God.

Psalm 43:5

Shall not God search this out?

For He knoweth the secrets of the heart.

Psalm 44:21

Be still

and know that I am God:

I will be exalted in the earth.

Psalm 46:10

Sarko-HE’S BAAAACK

By: Gabriela Yareliz

Yup, guess what I heard from the Telegraph and other sources… Sarko said himself he has been left with “no choice” but to run again in 2017. That is so hardcore!!!!

Is it weird that I feel a thrill and my French Politics light switch has flipped on again? Hollande has bored me. People are not happy about Sarko’s potential return. Well, some aren’t.

Me, I think there were better candidates in the elections than Hollande and Sarko, but Sarko never ceases to fascinate me for some reason.

The name: Part II

“I came to Him because I did not know which way to turn. I have remained with Him because there is no other way I wish to turn. I came to Him longing for something I did not have. I remain with Him because I have something I will not trade. I came to Him as a stranger. I remain with Him in the most intimate of friendships. I came to Him unsure about the future. I remain with Him certain about my destiny.”

— Ravi Zacharias from the book Jesus Among Other Gods

Our courage

By: Gabriela Yareliz

This is something we should all remind ourselves:

By: Ellen G. White

Talk courage to the people; lift them up to God in prayer. Many who have been overcome by temptation are humiliated by their failures, and they feel that it is in vain for them to approach unto God; but this thought is of the enemy’s suggestion. When they have sinned, and feel that they cannot pray, tell them that it is then the time to pray. Ashamed they may be, and deeply humbled; but as they confess their sins, He who is faithful and just will forgive their sins, and cleanse them from all unrighteousness. – {Te 107.4}

He is watching over you, trembling child of God. Are you tempted? He will deliver. Are you weak? He will strengthen. Are you ignorant? He will enlighten. Are you wounded? He will heal. The Lord “telleth the number of the stars;” and yet “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Psalm 147:4, 3. – {Te 120.5}
