Worry about the future

By: Ellen G. White

When we take into our hands the management of things with which we have to do, and depend upon our own wisdom for success, we are taking a burden which God has not given us, and are trying to bear it without His aid. We are taking upon ourselves the responsibility that belongs to God, and thus are really putting ourselves in His place. We may well have anxiety and anticipate danger and loss, for it is certain to befall us. But when we really believe that God loves us and means to do us good we shall cease to worry about the future. We shall trust God as a child trusts a loving parent. Then our troubles and torments will disappear, for our will is swallowed up in the will of God.—(Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing, 100, 101.) – {Pr 227.1}

Showin’ off

By: Gabriela Yareliz

Here are some great quotes I have collected over the past couple of days. Enjoy!

“I think I can make mum and daddy happy and boy too.”-Anushka Sharma when talking about what she would write in her matrimonal advertisement on Koffee with Karan

“God is getting ready to show off in your life.” -Tony Evans

“Faith is when your feet are touching the water. faith is your action not your talk.”- Tony Evans

When the children of Israel crossed the Jordan, they were commanded to go back and gather twelve stones of remembrance.

“The point of the stone of remembrance is to have a down payment showing what God has done, to remind you of what He will do.” Tony Evans

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or
think, according to the power that worketh in us,to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Praying in the name of Jesus

By: Ellen G. White

These excerpts are from chapter 20 in the book Prayer.

“To pray in Christ’s name means much. It means that we are to accept His character, manifest His spirit, and work His works. The Saviour’s promise is given on condition. “If ye love Me,” He says, “keep My commandments.” He saves men, not in sin, but from sin; and those who love Him, will show their love by obedience.” (Pr 219.1)

“But to pray in the name of Jesus is something more than a mere mention of that name at the beginning and the ending of a prayer. It is to pray in the mind and spirit of Jesus, while we believe His promises, rely upon His grace, and work His works.” (Pr 219.2)

“Christ illustrates the willingness of God to bless by the willingness of a father to grant the request of his child. He says, “If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him? Luke 11:11-13 (Pr 219.4)

“Whatever spiritual blessing we need, it is our privilege to claim through Jesus. we may tell the Lord, with the simplicity of a child, exactly what we need. We may state to Him our temporal matters, asking Him for bread and raiment, as well as for the bread of life and the robe of Christ’s righteousness. Your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things, and you are invited to ask Him concerning them. It is through the name of Jesus that every favor is received. God will honor that name, and will supply your necessities from the riches of His liberality.– (Pr 221.2)

There is only one name by which we can be saved. Jesus.
