I decided that not another day could go by with me not visiting one of my favorite places in the city–South Street Seaport District. I love the crisp, windiness by the sea and the boats. So, I grabbed my camera (partner-in-crime) and wandered down to the Financial District. The day was perfect; not too hot, not too cold.

I always get excited when I pass the Brooklyn Bridge because I know my little mariner world awaits in its shadow.

When I arrived, there were little tents up everywhere around the Fulton Market. I wandered past the tents and went in my favorite courtyard where the museum is located. There was a guy in there talking about how all the FiDi moms were taking over the South Street Seaport District, he seemed partly pleased. The area is certainly being revived. I have seem it blossom from being under construction to what it is today.

After being nosy and looking through open doors, I exited the doors of the museum courtyard, and I walked into a full-blown party. I was giddy, so I not only took photos, but recorded the awesome artist Dana Lacroix who was there. The video is not edited (it’s more like a Vine), but it gives you an idea of the vibe.

I have never had a bad moment at the South Street Seaport, and today was no exception. Today was a day of community, autumn and sea breeze (not the candle type, but the real kind).

Apples, cobblestone, blue sky, pumpkins and laughter. Easy to love.
